The Hillgrove Niteclub in conjunction with Williamz Sound & Lighting are bringing a Teenage UV Party to the Hilly Dance-floor on Sunday December 26th from 8-11pm.

The Hillgrove will be transformed into a magical glow of UV Madness.
This is the first Teen UV Party to be held on the Dingle Peninsula!

Tá ceol traidisiúnta láidir sa 21ú aois, buíochas le Dia. Ach an bhfuil aon ghaol nó baint aige le ceol an lae inniu? An bhfuil tionchar ar bith ag an nua-aois air? Cad a tharlódh dá mheascfaí ceol stairiúil, traidisiúnta na h-Eireann agus ceol úr, nua-aimseartha le chéile; cén toradh a bheadh ann? Tá freagra amháin ag Ian Wilson agus, “Common Tongue....” Tá Ian Wilson i mbun taighde cheoil le tamall ag Institiúil Techneolaíochta Dun Dealgan ( ‘Sé ‘An Foras Feasa’ post-Doctoral Research Fellow ann). As an taighde seo a tháinig ‘Common Tongue.’ Deineann an tionscnamh iniúchadh ar na nah-eilimintí go léir a bhaineann le ceol traidisiúnta - ornáidiú mar shampla – agus ar chonas gur féidir na h-eilimintí seo a aithint agus a úsáid mar bhonn d’ábhair nua cheoil. Mar thoradh ar an gcéad chuid den dtaighde tá comh-oibriú déanta aige le amhránaí ar an sean-nós, Lorcán Mac Mathúna agus leis an seinnteoir chruthachach sacsafóin, Cathal Roche, i dteannta le leictreoinic beo uaidh féin. Tugtar Common Tongue ar an bhfo-thionscnamh seo agus tá Lab na Mainistreach an-shásta fáiltiú roimhe ar an Aoine an 22 Dheireadh Fomhair ag 8pm. Beidh deis cainte ag an lucht éisteachta leis na ceoltóirí a bheidh an-shásta léargas a thabhairt ar a gcuid oibre. The marriage of old and new....
Traditional music is alive and well in this, the 21st century. But does it have anything to do with the music of today? Does today’s music have any influence on traditional music? What would happen to this traditional, historical music if it was combined with fresh, new music; what would be the result? Ian Wilson and, “Common Tongue,” have one answer... Common Tongue is a unique trio which came out of a music research programme presently being undertaken by composer Ian Wilson, who is 'An Foras Feasa' post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland. The project investigates what performers of traditional Irish music bring to the music in terms of performance gestures - ornaments, embellishments, etc. - and how these gestures can be identified, isolated, catalogued and subsequently used as the basis of new works of music. The first part of the research has resulted in this collaboration with sean-nós singer Lorcán Mac Mathúna and improvising saxophonist Cathal Roche, with Wilson adding live electronics.

Lab na Mainistreach is very happy to welcome them at 8p.m. on Fri. Oct. 22nd, when they will perform and answer questions from the audience regarding the process of their music.

Youth Café "Dress Wild" Teenage Disco

An Moncaí Ocrach Youth Café in conjunction with Williamz Sound & Lighting bring a "Dress Wild Themed" Winter Teenage Disco to the Hillgrove Dancefloor on Friday 8th October 8-11pm.

The theme is 'Dress Wild' - We want you to dress in the most craziest, weird, unusual, funky, different, wild costumes/clothes for the night! You can wear anything / be anyone!
If you are coming with a group of friends you should get together and do the same thing! example: go as "zebras"!
Prizes for the "Wildest Dressed" on the night!
Williamz Sound & Lighting will be taking your requests on the night!

€7 entry fee for everyone.

This will be a strictly supervised under 18's Non Alcoholic Event

In aid of An Moncaí Ocrach Youth Café. Hosted by Hillgrove Niteclub Dingle.

We encourage all the Young people who attend the youth café every weekend to support this event as we are in need of funds to keep the doors open.
